9-13-11 Last race of season didn't come off to what we hoped. Started out with blown tire during last practice session,
we had to quickly get a new one before heat race and for the rest of the night with twin features and no
time to setup correctly the car was loose during both races. Grasshopper Team will be back in 2012 with
new changes coming so keep checking back!
9-8-11 September 3rd Coke-Cola 50 Lap race Austin started inside pole with field of 19 cars. This weekend
Austin felt his car Mustang Late Model was worthy of a top five finish. He stayed in the race with 3rd position
for first part of the race than battle to hold on. He had contact with another car and his car started getting loose
which he backed off and settle for the night with a 7th place finish. Grasshopper Team would like to give thanks
to Sloan Racing and Kevin Crider for all their help.
8-30-11 August 27th race Austin was back again with his backup car Mustang body Late Model. Setup was a working in
progress to get this car where it would perform to what was expected. He was in the first of three heats of seven
cars started last and pulled off a 4th place. Since this is his first time to race this car he started last of a 22 field
car and finish the night with 14th place with a car that came down on him in turn 2 and his car started to get loose
where he spun himself out half way thru the race. Grasshopper Team was pleased for the outcome of the evening going
home with car in one piece and finished a 30 lap race. Some damage to right front but fixable in order to be back for
next race September 3rd 50 Lap Special.
8-10-11 Austin started 1st on August 6th race again with several good laps. He spun out on the 4th lap into the
race which caused him to lose his hood but was able to come back into the race without it. He started back
of the field and was moving back up until another caution came out for a restart. At the restart Austin was pushed
down with another car which he spun to the infield grass on the front stretch causing damage to his #20 car and
ending his night with DNF.
